People often don’t realize that I’m on the shorter side. They’re always surprised when I tell them I’m 5’3″ and then I usually have to toss a heel off and step on the ground barefooted to prove that I’m not lying! My height can be a bit of a challenge when it comes to a ton of wardrobe items… hence the reason I may have had a minor major meltdown when my seamstress shared the news that she was moving hours away.

So with that being said, it’s rare that I find something advantageous to us shorties like this Free People floral tunic. Of course if you’re taller than 5’3″, you can absolutely wear it however, you’re gonna need to throw on a pair of shorts or jeans. Pretty sure if I was a half an inch taller, I’d be giving off some Pretty Woman vibes [from the early scenes].

Remember this look from last fall? That’s an example of how I’d style a top like this with skinnies or jeggings. In addition, I think it makes a really cute beach coverup! Love a good ol’ versatile piece!

Unlike this tunic, Over The Knee Boots are definitely more easy to style on taller women with long legs. It took me a really long time to embrace the trend but once I figured out what looked best with my frame, I became obsessed. As a matter of fact, I’m now the proud owner of SEVEN pairs!! Yes… I know I’m ridiculous.

For those of us who are vertically challenged, there are some guidelines to follow when it comes to wearing OTK boots. Generally speaking, we should opt for a more fitted outfit versus something flowy like this tunic. It’s definitely more flattering to do so. However, the temperature happened to have been a bit cool this day and I just felt like there’d be too much leg showing if I wore ankle booties. Maybe it’s because I’m so pale right now!

As long as there’s a good 3+ inches of skin showing between the top of the boot and bottom of the dress, you can play around with the silhouette a bit. At least that’s what I did here! Perhaps if I had this trending belt, I’d throw it over the dress and around my waist to make it a bit more figure flattering.
