Elie’s Black and White Modern Nursery
Elie officially turned 6 months this week, so it’s about time his nursery was shared on here! If I’m being honest, we only just finished it recently. The first few months of his life, he slept in our room, so I barely had a need to even go into his! With a few things borrowed from big sister, Harley [remember her cute nursery??!], along with my old office area rug, a giraffe stolen from my parents’ home, and a few new key pieces, I’d say this room really came together!
So, we bought our home just over a year ago, and essentially it was “turn key.” The first thing I wanted to change, NEEDED to change, was the fan in this room. The previous owners also used this room as a nursery for their baby boy. Apparently it was baseball themed, which is totally fine, but let’s just say, the baseball bat, glove, ball, and plate fan hanging from the ceiling was so not my style. Yes, all of that was on one fan. I turned to Lamps Plus for a more sophisticated option, and ended up with this sleek, modern, brushed nickel, remote control operated one. This fan is no joke. Even our electrician was impressed by it, and Casey has asked me multiple times if we can swap it out for the one that’s in our bedroom because it’s more powerful. I might just buy a second one and give it to him for his next birthday! Haha!!
While searching for the ceiling fan on Lamps Plus, I stumbled across this antique brass 3-light floor lamp and fell in love. I didn’t even care if additional light was needed in the room or not, I just wanted that lamp! It’s a piece that will work in almost every room in our home, but I think having it in the corner of Elie’s nursery is the perfect spot! It totally helps make the room look complete. Lamps Plus literally has thousands of lamp options, but I feel confident with my choice!
Another favorite piece in this room is the customized painted sign above Elie’s crib. I absolutely adore Hunt and Gather’s work, so I contacted them about making this for me. They truly brought my vision to life and they were a pleasure to work with!
The last thing I want to bring to your attention is the cute little bookshelf next to the crib. It’s under $40, you guys!! Such a steal, right?!! It’s the perfect spot for the baby monitor, sound machine, books, and some other chachkies!
Hope you love this space as much as I do! Tell me your thoughts in the comments below!
Hi Jaime, I was wondering what you used for your paint color in this nursery? I love the black and white accents!
I honestly have no idea what color it is… it was the original color of the walls when we moved into our home!! It’s like a light, cool, grey. I’m sorry I don’t know the exact brand and color!!
