Ever say to yourself, “why didn’t I think of that?” I’m sure you have, because I do it on the regular. And usually its a concept or item that seems so obviously needed, that you wonder how it took this long to be created. For example, the bra strap clip:
So simple. So much better than the safety pins I used to use. So genius.
I’m always impressed by people who have the courage to take their bright idea and turn it into a reality. When I heard about my fellow sorority sister and friend, Alex’s new company, I was beyond proud of her, but at the same time was like, “why didn’t I think of that?!!” So now I present you with: ALTR creates and manufactures Button Covers. Yup, you heard me. Button Covers. It was founded by Alex and her friend Tripp (both Seminoles – hence the garnet and gold in the logo) who continued their education at UCF after graduating from Florida State. They recognized the lack in versatility surrounding the button. After competing in the University of Central Florida’s business plan competition, they won the money needed to invest in their first round of inventory: UCF & UF Button Covers. It is only a matter of time before they start carrying these for all universities, and after that I wouldn’t be surprised to see them customize and sell to stores like J. Crew! I am patiently waiting for my FSU button covers to be available, but in the meantime, I am able to sport their PINK Covers for a Cause (and so can you)!!!
Alex and Tripp encourage creativity. “Beyond the Button” is the slogan they use to inspire people to get the most use out of their button covers, and use it on hair bows, dog collars, bracelets, and so much more. You should definitely check them out on Facebook and Instagram to see all the fun ways to wear ’em!! Who knew how fun button covers could be?!!!
I have worn my PINK Button Covers a few times now, and have been stopped by several people who love them as much as I do. If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen this pic the other day:
And here is the outift I wore yesterday with them:
These Button Covers are very reasonably priced, add a little flare to an outfit, in addition to supporting and donating to a great cause. Congrats Alex & Tripp on your genius creation! I am so excited to see how far you take this and I wish you nothing but success!!
