The Colony Palm Beach Hotel
In August, I had the pleasure of staying at The Colony Palm Beach hotel for a quick girls weekend with my friend, Amanda. I’ve been wanting to stay there for the past 5-6 years, and it was everything I hoped it would be and more! I’ll be honest… I first discovered The Colony on Instagram. The pink exterior and banana leaf print throughout the property had my name written all over it! With that being said, The Colony has been a beloved Palm Beach landmark since 1947. For generations, it’s hosted U.S. presidents, European royalty, and some of the world’s most distinguished travelers.
You’ll see from the pictures, but the property itself is so quaint and charming. Each floor has a different color hallway with the banana leaf print carpet. The guest rooms are individually and uniquely decorated, but all stay true to Palm Beach style. Aside from the endless Insta-worthy spots, there’s so many reasons why The Colony has the great reputation it does.
The Hospitality
From check in to check out, every staff member we encountered was polite, helpful, warm, and friendly. One thing I noticed was the variety of guests. There were families with young children, couples of all ages, a group of girls celebrating their friend’s Bachelorette party, and other women on a girls trip like Amanda and I. I overheard a couple talk about their wedding at The Colony, and how they now come to celebrate their anniversary every year there. It seems to be a favorite spot amongst locals, as well as non-Floridians.
In addition to our room being beyond adorable, it was equally as comfortable and clean. The suite we stayed in was HUGE, and had TWO walk in closets! It was more than enough room for Amanda and I, but great to know for future stays with the fam.

The hotel itself is located just down the street, in walking distance from the beach. If you wanted to explore the Palm Beach area, you can take the bikes they have in the front of the hotel and ride yourself to the famous Worth Avenue shops. The Colony also has its own van service, and will take you anywhere you want to go! In addition to Worth Ave, my other personal favorite spot is The Royal Poinciana Plaza.
Before arriving to The Colony, I wasn’t quite sure what our plan was going to be in terms of staying or going off property. It ended up that Amanda and I mostly wanted to stay and enjoy the pool area, as well as dine in the restaurant.
Dining
The thing I think we were most pleasantly surprised by was the food! As I said before, we weren’t really sure what our plan was going to be, but had had some restaurants in mind to visit. The food at The Colony was FANTASTIC! During our stay, we had brunch, lunch, and dinner, and we kept telling ourselves that we’re coming back to eat with our husbands because it was so good.
The service, in addition to the food, was also exceptional. We kept saying, “how have we not come here before?!”
Overall, we had such a great stay at The Colony. The second I got home from the trip, I told my husband, Casey that we’re going there next time we want to do a staycation. It’s only 30 minutes from our home!
If you have any plans to come to South Florida for a getaway, I could not recommend The Colony Palm Beach enough. You will absolutely LOVE it!! Please let me know if you have any questions about it!
