Boho Style and Home Decor

April 15, 2015

It has been awhile, but I’m back with my girl, Emma from Defined Designs with our Style Series…where fashion and home decor meet.  Oversized Floral was the last collaboration we did together back in June of 2014.  We took a long hiatus as my pregnant belly kept growing and growing, but we missed working together and are happy to be back to show you how to keep up with different trends in your home and wardrobe.

Boho style is related to the 60’s and 70’s.  It is romantic, casual, hippie, flowy, and cool.  What I love most about it, is everyone can accomplish a Boho look while staying true to their own individual style.  You can be soft and sweet or a little rock and roll.  There are so many different elements to choose from when putting together your unique outfit: fringe, floral, tribal, crochet, beading, lace, suede, denim, embroidery.  On top of all of that, you can also choose from different color palettes: light neutrals, earthy hues, jewel tones and rich brights.  I can’t think of another trend that is so broad and versatile, which is why I think it’s so popular.  I have to admit, I’m a fan of it all and will be embracing this rage for a long, long time.

Free People and Urban Outfitters are two stores that immediately come to mind that embody this artistic trend.  I have a slight obsession with kimonos and found that Nordstrom has a great selection.  Sun & Shadow is the brand of this particular kimono that I’m wearing.  Although this specific one is not on Nordstrom’s website, you can click here to see all the different ones they have available for super affordable prices.  And then there is always Forever 21 if you don’t really want to invest in “trendy” pieces. [Nothin’ wrong with that]!!!  This maxi dress and crop top are in my Shopping Cart as we speak!
