Today I’m teaming up with Kendra and Kate from Dress Your Guests. DYG is an online dressing room for you and your party guests to have fun and chat outfit plans. Both the site and blog are great for outfit inspiration, but ultimately DYG helps take the guessing out of what to wear to an upcoming event or party. Definitely check out the site and register your next event!
All three of us girls are New Yorkers who recently moved to the beautiful city of Charlotte. We’ve each adjusted in our own way to living in a more Southern community (I now step into Lilly Pulitzer when shopping in the mall), but there are some things that may take more time to adapt to…if ever.
One thing I have noticed is an overall more casual approach to fashion in the South. It isn’t a bad thing in the least bit, but just different from what I’m used to. For example, I often see girls wearing sundresses to a Saturday night wedding, where in New York, my friends would be more schnazzed up to go out for dinner and drinks, let alone an event such as a wedding. New York fashion has a level of sophistication (at least in my opinion) and an effortlessly cool and chic vibe. There’s just something about it that I love and will forever be drawn to.
Kendra, Kate and I are doing a two part series of ‘Charlotte And The City.’ Today’s look is an example of how we do Saturday evening Cocktail Attire, while sticking to our NY roots. (Oh, and by the way, we totally did NOT plan on coordinating colors!! Guess great minds really do think alike)! 🙂
