Gone Country

June 12, 2013

Growing up in Long Island, country music was certainly not part of my oh so cool cassette mixtapes.  I don’t even remember hearing it on the radio, other than the occasional Shania Twain or Faith Hill song.  After moving to sunny South Florida entering my Junior year of High School, that changed in a hot second.

During my 4 years at Florida State University (Go Noles!), daisy dukes and cowboy boots were a staple amongst most girls’ tailgating attire, and EVERYBODY listened to country music.  There was no way to escape it even if you tried.  If you can’t beat them, join ’em, right?

As mentioned in an earlier post, denim on denim has been on repeat with my outfits for a long time now.  The accessories you choose to wear with it can change the entire look from being “country” to hipster to preppy to whatever look it is you’re trying to accomplish.  You will probably be seeing a lot of variations of this trend in future posts.  I just love it!
