I Love This Mom Life tee c/o // I Love This Kid Life tee c/o // Harley’s PJ Shorts
Happy Mother’s Day to all of the fellow Mommas out there! It’s rare that I post on Sunday. Actually, “I have never posted on a Sunday” would be the more accurate statement! It’s been a long time since our last mommy and me shoot, so I figured today was more than appropriate.
Harley recently turned 20 months and has certainly been keeping me and Casey on our toes! In non-parent lingo, that’s a little over a year and a half, but I’m sure you smart people can easily figure that math out! It’s just that I remember how silly it would sound [before becoming a mom] when people would say their kid’s age in months. Like why were they making it so difficult?! Haha!! I totally get it now. The month to month, week to week, heck even day to day changes are crazy and so significant!
Harley is obsessed with music and singing. She literally sings all day long! ABCs, The Wheels On The Bus, Bringing Home A Baby Bumblebee, Happy Birthday [this is her favorite – even if it’s no one’s birthday], Twinkle Twinkle, Head Shoulders Knees & Toes, and then there is Adele’s Hello because who doesn’t love that song. She is super funny and has a great sense of humor. Loves to be silly and completely understands when people are joking around. While she’s still working on her speech, I try to have full conversations with her and pretend [or hope] she gets everything I’m saying. She’s starting to piece more words together into complete sentences. Throughout the day we always hear, “Ninnie, where are you?!” as she walks around in search for her life size Minnie Mouse. If you follow me on Snapchat [username: jaime_cittadino], you may have seen that we’re still working on our colors. Some days she gets 80% correct, while other days everything is yellow!
She’s fiercely independent and so strong willed. Just yesterday at the mall, she refused to go in her stroller or hold my hand while walking. I tried carrying her [and push the stroller at the same time], but that was unsuccessful. She wiggled her way out of my arms while screaming bloody murder every single time I picked her up. Needless to say, I couldn’t get out of there fast enough!
Through the ups and downs, there is nothing better than being Harley’s mom. Everything is so new and exciting to her, it’s like I’m experiencing life for the first time again! She has made me a better human and I feel like my life is complete since having her. I truly love this mom life!!
[If my writing seems to lack energy today, it’s because I’m tired. Very tired. But at least I’m happy. Very very happy!] 🙂
Again, Happy Mother’s Day to all of you superwomen out there! And especially to my Mom. Lord knows I was NOT an easy child!! I love you Mom!
