Tulle skirts have been taking over my Instagram Feed like crazy over the last two years. They’re absolutely darling, but not something I’d typically wear EVER. Since I was 80-90% Tomboy during my adolescence and didn’t start taking interest in dance until 7th grade, I think I missed my window of opportunity with those tutu loving days. Besides, I was more into learning Missy Elliott’s dance routines and thought I could have been the next Aaliyah, [clearly, I was a bit delusional], so tulle was just not my style.
My friend, Sarah [The House of Sequins] had actually encouraged me to get this tulle skirt while we were holiday shopping at the Bloomingdales outlet in Long Island. It was the only one they had and it just so happened to be in my size. Ironically at the Nordstrom Rack next door, we saw one little girl’s grey dress in Harley’s size that matched way too perfectly. It was fate! Haha! When Harley first modeled this outfit for us, Casey kept saying how freaking adorable she looked and I couldn’t help but chuckle because it wasn’t that long ago that he was sulking on the couch in pure disappointment and disbelief that we were having a baby girl. He kept bitching complaining about future dance recitals and how pink and floral were going to be taking over our lives. Of course the second she was born, that all went out the window. He is now the number one supporter of all things girly!
Two Of A Kind Apparel has our names written all over it! They sell the cutest Mommy and Me t-shirt sets and graphic tees for all: men, women, boys, girls, brides, & bridesmaids. If you’ve been following along, you know how much I love my graphic tees! Harley and I will be wearing these a lot! We got another set too that will be making an appearance on the blog, so stay tuned for that!
