Love Is In The Air

My baby sister [and only sister] is getting married!!! Samantha just got engaged a few months ago, to Brian, who has practically been a part of our family for the past five or six years.  Their actual engagement came as a huge surprise, however, the two of them getting engaged is certainly not surprising one bit. They are absolutely made for each other and I just couldn’t be more excited for the two of them!

Sam’s already found her dress and booked a venue, band, and florist. So now, it’s up to me, her MOH, to plan the best Bachelorette Weekend and Bridal Shower ever!

The day after their engagement, I made a quick stop to my local Walgreens to pick up a Hallmark Engagement Card, followed by a trip to the grocery store for a bouquet of flowers, and then surprised Sam at work.  I’ve since gone back to Walgreens to check out their Bachelorette Party and Bridal Shower cards.

When I was engaged, reading cards from my closest friends and family was one of my favorite parts of the wedding process. We live in a world where people text instead of call, and email versus writing a letter.  It’s not the worst thing in the world as it certainly has its benefits, however, I personally love receiving an actual card or hand written note. It’s a bit more special to me, so I love doing that for others.

Walgreens had a ton of Hallmark cards to pick from. The one I chose for Samantha’s Bachelorette Party [pictured right above] is pretty simple and cute, which kind of describes her.  She’s not a very emotional or sentimental person, and if I got her a mushy gushy card, she’d most likely roll her eyes at me and laugh.  With that being said, my sister is probably the most selfless person I know and goes above and beyond for the people she cares about.  She absolutely hates to be the center of attention, but I told her she needs to get over that pronto or at least temporarily because this is the one time it can and should be all about her! I’m hoping this card puts a smile on her face and reminds her that I’m right by her side, just like she has been for me.
