When it comes to skincare and makeup, I often joke around that it takes a village. Some people are blessed with perfect skin, and others [ehem, moi] need a little help. I will say that I have been overall very pleased with the way my skin looks, and I really think it’s because I’ve taken care of it so much more in my old age, compared to younger years. So, if it takes me a few extra minutes in the morning and at night to apply everything, so be it!
I will admit that I am and will always be a product whore, and can’t commit to one brand or one product for the rest of my life. With that being said, there are plenty of items that I am less than impressed with, so am/will be very candid and honest with you about that. If I share a product and say I love it, that means I really love it!
Please keep in mind… everyone’s skin is different, therefore responds differently to products. I have personally also found that food intake and hormones are huge contributing factors to the way my skin appears. Should you suffer from different skin concerns, of course consult a Dermatologist. It goes without saying that I am NOT an expert, but truly believe that eating healthy, drinking lots of water, and knowing what foods you might be allergic or sensitive to can only help!
So without further ado, here is my current skincare routine for younger looking skin…
Cleanser:
Tula is a brand I became familiar with a little over a year ago. I was gifted a travel size kit and brought it with me to New York last summer. I finished that bad boy so quickly! I was hooked! Since then, the Purifying Face Cleanser has become part of my regular rotation of face washes. It’s gentle and does a great job removing makeup. I love the way it makes my skin feel!

Dermalogica is a tried and true trusted brand. They pretty much offer a line for every type of skin type out there! The Essential Cleansing Solution is my go to when my skin is feeling more on the dry side. It’s extremely gentle and creamy. In fact, the consistency almost feels like a moisturizer. It’s soothing and great for sensitive skin.
Toner:
I use the IT Cosmetics Miracle Water to help brighten and hydrate my skin. Developed with plastic surgeons, it has a skin-brightening radiance booster to enhance radiance and reduce the look of lines and wrinkles while restoring skin’s appearance. In addition, it gently removes dirt, oil, impurities, and all traces of makeup.
Face Oil:
I’ve been a believer of face oils for the last few years and was so excited to get my hands on this one! I have heard so many amazing reviews about Clarins in general, so when they reached out to me about trying one of their face oils, you better believe I jumped allll over that! I got to choose the oil of my choice, and ended up with this Blue Orchid Face Treatment. This hydrating treatment oil restores vitality and radiance to dehydrated skin. It contains Patchouli and Blue Orchid extracts which help tone and revitalize to moisture-depleted skin. And then, the Hazelnut Oil it has softens, smoothes and seals in moisture to help minimize the appearance of fine lines. I use this on my face and neck every night, and have even used some on my upper arms and chest area.
I think a lot of people are scared to put oil on their face because they think it’ll make them break out. My husband still thinks it’s so weird that I intentionally drench myself in it! Keep in mind, not all oils are created equal. This one absorbs quickly into the skin without clogging pores. It smells great and gives my skin some life! If you suffer from dehydration or dull looking skin, or you just want to maintain a nice, healthy glow, try this face oil. It’s worth every penny!
Eye Cream:
My dark under eye circles are pretty bad because I don’t sleep. On average, I probably get 4 hours of sleep a night… maybe 5 or 6 if I’m lucky. I know, it’s so bad! I’m working on it…promise!! Anyway, until I figure out a way to catch more zzzzzz’s, I have to believe that these black circles are here to stay. On the plus side, the skin underneath my eyes is flat, not puffy or swollen looking. So I’m going to contribute that to using eye cream. I’ve been using Tula’s Multi Spectrum Eye Renewal Serum for the past three months. Prior to that, I was using Beautycounter’s Eye Cream. In comparing the two, I like the Tula formula a little more. It comes with a cool applicator, but unfortunately that broke on me pretty quickly. That’s my only complaint about it!
I was recently gifted IT Cosmetics Confidence in an Eye Cream, and am eager to try that when I’m done with the Tula.

Moisturizer:
Love the Day & Night Cream by Tula, and was using it for both day and night time. I’ve gone through three bottles so far! It’s super hydrating without feeling greasy in the slightest bit. It leaves my skin feeling nourished and refreshed.
About two months ago I was gifted IT Cosmetics Secret Sauce Moisturizer and my friend was like, “OMG you need to try it!! It’s the best!” So, I’ve started using it at night before going to bed, while sticking with the Tula cream for the morning. I can’t pick a favorite when comparing the two which is why I’m still using both!
