Roadtrippin’ to Nantucket with Hertz

October 28, 2016

how to get to Nantucket

Before we got to Boston, we had all been chatting about what we planned to bring, what we planned to wear, yadda yadda yadda. The initial goal was to have one suitcase and one carry on. Well aren’t we silly! Lawren was the first to report that there was no way in hell the 18+ outfits were fitting in her luggage. Initially, I was like, “Geesh Lawren, how much stuff are you bringing?” But then I actually tried packing up all of my shit beautiful belongings and learned quickly that I too needed two LARGE suitcases. And STILL, both suitcases were completely packed with not an inch or pound to spare.

So here we are… 4 girls, 8 large suitcases, plus totes and small duffles. We knew it was going to be quite interesting getting from place to place. Nina and I even got DENIED a taxi ride at the airport coming in because she said we had too much luggage! Could you imagine if Steph and Lawren were with us too?! The woman literally got out of her car, opened her trunk, looked at us and said, “Ah hell no,” shut her trunk and got back into the car!!! [Insert all of the laughing/crying emojis.]

Anyway, to make our lives easier, we decided to each leave a suitcase back at the Boston Park Plaza before commuting to Nantucket. This was by far, the smartest move we made! Even after downsizing to half of our belongings, we still had to split up and take two Ubers to the airport to pick up the rental car from Hertz, so we were legit nervous that we weren’t going to fit everything in the car!

Fortunately for us, Hertz welcomed us and our baggage with open arms and made what could have been a disaster, a very easy, quick, and pleasant experience. We got hooked up with an Infiniti QX80, a sexy, large SUV…with a beautiful leather interior, comfy spacious seats, and a super smooth ride that drives like a dream. You can’t help but feel like a straight up #BOSS in this car!

On our way to Hyannis to take the ferry, we drove passed a little farm stand with pumpkins and screamed at Lawren to make a U-Turn so we could see what it was all about! Being that we all live in South Florida and Arizona, we don’t get to experience everything fall has to offer, so we got a wee bit excited to say the least! So much so, that I think the owners of Crow Farm thought this was our first encounter with pumpkins ever. It’s totally normal for four grown women to take pictures holding pumpkins for 20 minutes, isn’t it??!! Ha! At least we can make fun of ourselves! And for the record, Nina bought a baby pumpkin. She says she got it as a thank you to them for allowing us to use their property for a photo sesh, but I just think she has some sick obsession with pumpkins!!! 😉
