Our Master Bedroom Preview + Plans

Happiest of Monday friends! Hope you all had a great weekend!! Ours was filled with multiple Home Goods, Target, and Publix runs. We have been in our new home for two whole weeks now, making progress when we can. BUT, between work and being with Harley when we’re not working, we’re moving at turtle speed. Haha!

We’ve yet to hang a picture on the wall and still have some furniture to buy, but I wanted to show you guys our master bedroom so far.

This platform bed has been my favorite find. Casey likes a low bed and I wanted a great headboard, so when I saw this bed online, it looked like the perfect compromise. I was a bit skeptical because it’s priced at UNDER $250 for a king size bed. That’s ridiculously low! However, there are tons and tons of positive reviews on it’s sturdiness and aesthetic, and I have to agree with every single one of those reviews. The bed looks SO good in person!

We got it in the color “Bone.” Our floors are a dark grey “wood” laminate, so I was hoping the bed wouldn’t be too yellow, and it’s not! It really is very neutral and could go in a room of creams or greys.

It’s really hard to put together a room in your head! At least for me it is, since I’m clearly NOT an Interior Decorator. I ordered almost everything online before stepping foot into our house, so was nervous [and excited] to see it all come together! I was searching tirelessly for the right area rug. Obviously I wanted something that would look good on the floors while still coordinating with the bed. I reallyyyyy lucked out with this contemporary geometric diamond rug. The beige and grey match PERFECTLY in our room, and it’s such a comfortable rug! Feels great on my feet!

A few years ago, we got this bench for our apartment in Charlotte, and it was one of the few things we kept. I’m so happy we are still able to use it! It’s beautiful!!

Every time Casey and I travel, he always comments that he wishes we’d have hotel bedding. I was literally on Marriott’s website about to purchase everything from there, and then realized I can probably do it more affordably on my own. Mission accomplished. We got this down comforter, this duvet cover, these sheets, these king pillows, and these standard pillows. HEAVEN I tell you!

I then splurged on this Coverlet with matching Euro Shams which I was certain Casey would yell at me for. He hates unnecessary blankets and pillows on the bed that he feels are just for show. But nope! He loves them! The fabric is seriously the softest and yummiest thing ever! When he lied in our bed for the first time and pulled the coverlet over his legs, he was like, “Oh, this is reallyyyyy nice.” I was in shock! Happy! But in shock!

And now on to our mattress…

I did a collaboration with Lull who makes a premium memory foam mattress. While they did gift me the mattress, I swear to you, Casey and I have never slept better! I hope you know I would never say that if it weren’t true. We are truly SO pleased with it! Casey is “my princess” when it comes to certain things. He is the biggest critic when it comes to bedding, especially the mattress and pillows. If he isn’t happy with them, he will let you know…every five seconds!! LOL! He’s practically bitched complained every night for the past eight years [prior to these past two weeks]!

OUR PLANS…

We are still in need of new nightstands. The ones we currently have are a temporary solution. I found them on clearance at Target for $42 and couldn’t resist getting them. They came in a light oak color. When we were painting our room [Cotton Balls by Benjamin Moore], I just painted the nightstands the same color.

I love this one, but would possibly need to switch out the gold hardware with silver. Gold is my jam, but I just feel like silver would look better in our bedroom. These are other contenders:

Once we get new nightstands, I want to find a small mirror to go on the wall right above them. Something like this. New lamps and a few simple nightstand accessories will help liven up the space!

I think we definitely need three accent pillows to go in front of the Euro shams. I’m still searching for the perfect color and fabric! Do I dare say that I’ll be getting a throw blanket to coordinate with the accent pillows we end up getting? Casey will think I’m being ridiculous, but whatever. Men just don’t get it!! We may even take one of our recliners from the living room and bring it into the bedroom to create a little corner reading area. We want to fill the space, but at the same time keep things pretty open and simple.

Lastly, we need some type of artwork or photo[s] on the walls! I honestly have NO CLUE what I want! Hopefully something will catch my eye soon! Oh, and curtains would be nice too!! Did I cover it all?!
