Wohoo! The day has finally come, and it truly feels like Christmas in July! I have to be honest with you guys… when I first peeked at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2018 catalog, I wasn’t overly impressed. However, upon further review, I definitely think there are some great gems on sale. Within each category, I have a few select favorites, so the sale is totally worth checking out!
Overall, I was mostly impressed by the denim collection, boots and booties, and coats and jackets.
The one piece of advice I can give is to shop fast, because things do sell out quickly. Thankfully, Nordstrom has free shipping and free/easy returns, so there’s really no reason not to buy whatever it is you’re coveting!
I will be updating and adding photos, sizing information, the whole nine as I get to actually see these pieces in person and try on! For now, here are my first impression favorites and what to buy before it sells out!
1. Topshop Sweater // 2. Barefoot Dreams Cardigan [softest thing ever…worth every penny!] // 3. Free People Cardigan [have in 3 colors! runs oversize] // 4. BLANKNYC Moto Jacket [just purchased! OBSESSED] // 5. T3 Singlepass Curling Iron [I use this on the regular!] // 6. Oribe Set // 7. Patagonia Pullover // 8. Mascara Set [my absolute favorite!] // 9. Ear Crawlers [always get compliments when wearing] // 10. T3 Blow Dryer [I have and use this! Makes your hair silky smooth!] // 11. Distressed Jeans [under $50. Don’t recommend for women who have tummies. They don’t provide any support or control] // 12. Ray-Bans // 13. Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick Set // 14. Knee-High Boot // 15. Vince Camuto Bootie [ordered!] // 16. Charles by Charles David Bootie [ordered! obsessed with the color!] // 17. Marc Fisher Bootie [have them already and they’re so good! come in multiple colors]
*UPDATED: AFTER TRYING MORE THINGS ON, THESE ARE DEFINITELY PIECES I WOULD RECOMMEND!!!
SPLURGE JEANS: If you are needing/wanting premium denim that is flattering and will last forever, get these. They are $75 off! I’m only 5’3″ and love that I don’t have to hem them! They can be folded up at the bottom if needed. Runs TTS.
FAUX LEATHER LEGGINGS: I’ve been eyeing these for TWO YEARS, and finally caved! They live up to all the hype. They suck and tuck and lift you in all the right places. I would recommend getting them at full price as well because they are THAT good! I got a Medium.
WRAP CARDIGAN: This is for all of you nursing moms! [Be sure to share this with any friends who are preggers!] I’ll be honest, prior to nursing Elie, I wasn’t so sold on this two way cardigan, but ended up living in it, and constantly choosing it over other pieces. It makes nursing out in public SO EASY!! My sister is currently pregnant and I told her she needs to buy at least one of them [and I plan on giving her my pink one]!
HIGH WAIST LEGGINGS: These $35 leggings are SO GOOD you guys! I have them in a small in black, which I wore non-pregnant. Purchased the black mediums during my pregnancy. And now, just got the navy in medium because I love them so much. Great for working out in, or just dressing casually with a long top. There are THOUSANDS of 5 star reviews on these!
CARDIGANS: I was pleasantly surprised by this curve hem cardigan, and feel like it looks way more expensive than it is [currently on sale for $32]. I recommend sizing down one size, as it does run a bit big. It comes in 6 colors!
I really like this ribbed shawl cocoon sweater and ended up getting it in the grey medium charcoal color. I am wearing a small and found it to run a little big! I like it a teeny bit more than the cardigan mentioned right above, but both are really good inexpensive options!
I also do like this cardigan, and find it to be made well [I have one from last year]. A few reviewers reported pilling, but I haven’t had that problem! Maybe I haven’t worn it enough to experience that?? Anyway, just wanted to throw it out there in case you’re looking for a cardigan that can be worn in a business setting as well as a casual setting.
SHOES: I am a shoe girl, so it’s hard for me to tell you the one pair you need, especially when everyone has such different needs and preferences. I can tell you that I purchased and love these modern cowgirl booties because they’re stylish, chic, and don’t have too high of a heel. I was overall disappointed in the selection of flats this year.
CONTOUR BRA: True story, that Free People bralette you have probably seen every single blogger post 5,000 times BROKE ON ME when trying things on at Nordstrom. Obviously I was wearing a thin white tank, because WHY NOT?!! LOL. So long story short, I asked the sales associate to get me a bra, so I can try things on and really see how they’d look. Welp, I loved this bra so much that I refused to take it off! Had her cut the tags off for me while it was on my body. In fact, I passed out last night in Harley’s bed for a few hours [a common occurrence] still wearing the bra, and was shocked that I didn’t want to rip it off my body the second waking up. I can’t tell you the last time I went bra shopping, but I’m so happy to have been sort of forced into getting this one! I also picked up these no show socks because I needed more!
Hope this helps you guys!!
