Hotel Indigo Atlanta Downtown Review

HOTEL INDIGO ATLANTA DOWNTOWN REVIEW, Sunflowers and Stilettos blog, travel blog

You guys may remember that earlier last month, I had a little girls getaway to Atlanta with Stephanie. The initial reason for the trip was to attend an event hosted by Reward Style [the company we work with to help monetize our content]. There were a bunch of girls that we knew who were going, plus it had been dreadfully hot in Florida at the time, so we were looking for any excuse to escape for a few days.

Prior to this trip, I honestly can’t recall the last time I had been to Atlanta. I know I’ve been before when I was younger, and I certainly have flown in and out of the Atlanta airport dozens of times [haven’t we all!]. So, with that being said, it really felt like my first time there.

We stayed at Hotel Indigo Atlanta Downtown, which is part of the IHG hotel group. Just in case you couldn’t tell by the name, it’s located in the heart of downtown Atlanta, so it’s a perfect place to stay if you’re traveling in for business or for pleasure. It’s conveniently right next door to Starbucks, right across the street from CVS, and in walking distance to tons of great restaurants and attractions. It’s also attached to the AmericasMart Atlanta, one of the largest wholesale marketplace for gifts, home items, and apparel!

From the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out, every single person who worked there was SO nice! Seriously… Steph and I kept looking at each other and saying, “they are soooo nice!” Regardless of their position, they all smiled, initiated and engaged in conversation, asked to make sure we were good, and seemed 100% genuine. That goes a long way with me!

Hotel Indigo was recently renovated, and has a very cool urban vibe and modern aesthetic. I initially thought it was going to be a small boutique hotel, but upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the entire first floor.

In the center of the lobby, just passed the check in desk, there’s a grand spiral staircase that takes you to the second floor. Here is where you will find multiple conference rooms and meeting spaces, in addition to the gym. From this floor, you take the elevators up to your room. There’s of course an elevator on the first floor, just opposite the check in desk, in the event you have no desire to climb the beautiful staircase.

Our room was very clean [as was the entire hotel], and the perfect amount of space for us. Clearly, we made ourselves feel like home in no time! Beds were extremely comfortable. In fact, it was probably the best sleep I’ve gotten in awhile. Maybe not having a three year old there to wake me up in the middle of the night helped slightly, but I swear, the second I got into bed, I didn’t want to get out!

Just behind the staircase on the first floor is where JP Atlanta Restaurant & Bar lives. Steph and I ate in the restaurant on two separate occasions, plus we also ordered in breakfast. The food was fresh and delicious, and so not your typical hotel food. It was so convenient having an in house, GOOD restaurant! We definitely took advantage of it and ordered probably way more than we should have!
